WARNING!!! This episode is not for the faint of heart!

Sexual Steveoh and the Neighborhood Scum is a punk/hardcore band from Reedley CA. The band played the podcast Anniversary show but time did not allow an interview. Thankfully 2 weeks later we had another show and we got the opportunity to sit down. Originally it was going to be a 15 minute interview but things just happened. This interview turned out to be a 50 minute conversation. This is one of the main reasons that I love podcasting.

I met Brook the Map the Universe cd release show. That show was a really great indicator of what local music could do if they were given a platform. The Architect played great and really surprised me. What stuck with me the most is the uniformity that they showed. They all had shirts with their diamond logo on them. They were on a mission, together, and that was amazing to see.

LIPSHOK: Music that is all original, gothic, eternal, ethereal, dark, and mysterious, with haunting melodies, soaring vocals, and dynamic changes. The music will transport you to another realm where magick is real, dreams come true, dragons fly overhead, the Fae are powerful, the old Gods are worshipped, and all you see is ever-changing. Heavily influenced by progressive symphonic metal styles, and dimensional forevers, LIPSHOK will let your soul travel and your spirit wander…LIPSHOK: Another realm is waiting…(From http://www.lipshok.com)

In this episode we have Scarlett and Phil call in and talk about Lipshok! We talk about band relations, writing their music and much more. We also hit on the differences in being a cover band and an original band. The interview was recorded on Halloween of 2015 which was fitting due to the imagery of the band. TLMR Anniversary Show

Last night was The Local Music Revolution’s  1 year Anniversary show. It has been in the works for months. The podcast, at this point, has been around for well over a year.  I could not think of a better way to close that chapter and open a new on. You all are incredible!

Thank you Cool Homer Jack, SSATNS, Days under Authority, Militant Civilian and Dawning of a Massacre! The show was even better than I thought it would be. Each of the acts went over great with the crowd and the owners! That in itself made it worth it. It is insanely humbling being around and working with you guys! If it was not for bands like you, I would not be able to do the podcast and put on shows like last night! For that, I cannot thank you enough.

Failed Games showed to do what they do. Funniest part of the whole situation is it was a huge fail. That is also what they do! Thank you for showing up, supporting and being awesome sports about the entire scenario. We didn’t get Necro to rage quit and throw a controller, which really bums me out.  Next time this will happen!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show. You made it a great night for the bands! Reactive and very into what was going on. It was an incredible sight! Every single person I talked to said that they were having a great time. It’s crazy that all that work finally paid off, people really responded.

Lastly, Thank you to Barmaggedon for hosting the show. All of the staff are amazing! Their excitement is infectious! Every band loved the venue! The vibe was crazy! Thank you Matt, without you there wouldn’t have been a show.

If anyone needs validation of all the hard work you put into a project, book a metal show. I walked away from the show with renewed purpose and even more drive to make the podcast bigger and better. The only way for us is to go up.  I can’t wait to show you guys what is next for this podcast.

Song name: The Call of the Mountians
Album: Helvetios
Band: Eluveitie
Year: 2014

Personal: I love the fact that this band can be extremely metal and then turn around and pull out something like this or even “Omnos”. They do not get the credit that they deserve. That’s not even talking about how amazing their subject matter is.
