Werebear is a punk band out of Orosi, CA. They have been around since 2012. The idea behind the band is to have a continuous story line dealing with the Werebear. Their newest album was released in December of 2016 and the is titled “Honey”. Cristobal is the brians behind the band and lyrics. The album “Honey” was recorded by TLMR alumni Ronnie Taylor.
Bears Among Men is a Hardcore band for the California Central Coast. They are an extremely hard working band. I constantly see them working and playing shows. They are extremely humble but they are also very intense about their music.
Overdrive is a Pop Punk band from Mexico. When I met them they were on a 6 date tour in the US. They had come the US and their first show was in Los Angeles. It was a great story to hear and it was an amazing band to see. They currently have 3 videos on YouTube. IF you are a fan of the genre you will love Overdrive.
Two O’clock Courage is a pop punk band from Los Angeles, CA. When I saw them, they were performing acoustic sets. They were in the process of finding a bassist to fill out the band again. They were also set to go in a great, very important tour for then band. Just a couple weeks later.
In//Conflict is a Metalcore band out of Visalia CA. They have been a band since 2015. The interesting part of this band is it is one of the few that have 2 front men. Another being my friends in Summon the Harbinger. The front men for In//Conflict are also brothers. The dynamic onstage is very interesting to watch!
Cyborg Octopus is a progressive metal band out of the bay area. They released their album “Learning to Breathe” in 2016 with rave reviews among the media outlets. To understand Cyborg Octopus you must see them live. Their recordings are great but the live show really puts them, their vision and their talent into perspective. David, their guitarist also has a great, fun, facebook/youtube that deals with writing music. It is called Riffshop. Check it out.
Metal Religion is a metal band out of Ivanhoe CA. I met them when they opened for Star Off Machine. I was able to get a good feel of the band. We instantly had a connection over older thrash and heavy metal. It was an amazing interview and the were great band to have. You’ll hear talk of their origins, How they write and their love of music.
Star Off Machine is a active rock band out of Huntington Beach CA. They have played with many national acts. They Have 2 full length albums that are currently available. This interview was recorded after their set at Barmageddon in Tulare CA. The band was tight and the had a long set which was amazing. We got to talk about their history and all of the obstacles that have come up. We also got to talk about the music industry itself. At one point you can also hear the guys flipping the interview and asking me questions!
Vicious is a metal band out of Lindsey CA. They have been a band for a short time now. In that time they wrote and recorded an EP called “The Beginning”In this interview you’ll hear the band talking about their music and the bands history. We also get into their writing and recording. The future is bright for this band.
A Thousand Shall Fall formed in 2011 out of Santa Cruz.The put the band together because of their need music that was not cliche and easily accessible. They wanted something heavier, dark, and still technical. ATSF was born! The band will release their third recording entitled, “Perennial” in January, 2017. It is the third in a series of releases that follow in a thematic storyline of destruction, desolation, and regrowth.
I have known Michael for years. I used to play all over with his band. Sadly, he had to relocate. I regained contact with him and found out that he was writing black metal for a solo project, Through These Gates. In the interview you will hear us talk about his writing style, what inspires Michael and what is next for Through These Gates.
From Devastation comes out of Turlock CA. They band started as many others have, out of the ashes of previous bands. After fianlizing the bands line up the band started writing. They currently have an EP released on bandcamp, which is called Negative. At current time the guys are playing shows and promoting their EP.
The HellRzzR tour consisted of White Knuckle Riot, Vyces and Invidia. The tour can through Fresno CA and I was able to talk to White Knuckle Riot and Vyces. It still bums me out that the schedule did not allow an interview with Invidia. Next time! I got the CDs for White Knuckle Riot and Vyces. They do not disappoint. I highly suggest picking the CDs up.
Glass Gallows is a promotion company for the arts. The founders met in high school and back close because of their various musical interests. Because of that friendship the created a promotion company that is based out of CA. The 3 founders live in different parts of CA so their contacts and react is very widespread. They also allow the arts to be combined with the music. even more amazing is that they do not want genre barriers. This could be the start of something that could help music.
Whiteboy Slim is a 2 member blues band. Slim, the guitarist and vocalist is the mastermind behind the band but he could not do it without Dustin. As, Dustin plays bass and drums at the SAME TIME!! Truly interesting circumstances and elements that brought this band to the present. As, for The Local Music Revolution, this is the first international interview on the show!
Affirmative Reaction is a metal band out of Visalia CA. They came together after their original bands broke up. Something that is interesting about their live show is that the singer will hit a large metal disc with a hammer, You’ll hear more. They are getting ready to record very soon. I can not wait to see what they have in store for the future.
Culture Vulture is a band consisting of 2 core members. Those members wrote and recorded their current EP “Plus” in four months. They try to perform with as many musicians as possible. That ensures that the music will always have a different feel! The personality of the new member will shine through the music.

hVa is a 2 member band from California’s central coast. They got together a couple years ago. Music and a relationship began to blossom and now we have hVa! This music and emotional connection can be seen on stage and felt by the audience. hVa can feel it to, the intense reaction of the crowd and their interaction. The future is very bright for them and I can not wait to see how it unfolds!
Perception is a young band out of Fresno CA. The formed in 2015 and their first show was in May of 2016. Youth doesn’t however, take away for their passion and musicianship. The have the technical ability to do may different genres and it shows in thier music BUT none more than the metal side.
Benson call themselves Southerncore. The sad part is you would not get it unless you’ve seen them live. I personally feel that the recordings don’t do them justice. One this episode we talk to their drummer. He even goes through each song and the meaning behind the songs.
Reminitions is a band out of Visalia California. They have been around for a few years and in that time the have made a decent impact of the local metalcore scene. Currently they are working on their newest EP.
Matt Zane is the Vocalist for the band Society1.He is currently still work and releasing music with Society1! He is also a music video director that has worked with Wayne Static, John 5, and many other musicians. He is a record holder for the longest suspension lasting 6+ hours.
A Mirror Hollow is based out of L.A. The are a band that utilizes technology to help elevate the fact that they are a fair distance away from each other. The sound that they produce is fairly similar to the active rock on the radio. Their live show is something to witness. Very energetic and interesting.
Eye See Home Promotions is a Promotion company that helps indie metal(All metal) acts. They focus on the underground, and emerging artists that need help to get to the next level. Eye See Home also complies a compilation CD featuring bands from around the world. The compilation is released digitally for free and and physically for $3.
These interviews come from the Barmageddon greenroom. The had a punk show and asked me to come down and check it out. have heard of these bands before but the thing was, that they were more like myths that people talk about. The bands were amazing and the interviews were amazing. It was a great time for a live show!
I was actually contacted by by Sassy Black Jesus on Tumblr of all places. He signed up and it took awhile to get everything right but we did it and it was a blast. We covered a ton of things including his love for his guitar, being taken seriously and what makes him awesome.
Garrett contacted me and it took a while for use to get to a point to have the interview. However, through patience and perseverance we got that interview done. During the conversation we talk about Garrett’s music, band and a bunch of other things that contribute to his music.
I was put into contact with RVLS by a previous guest. The interview was booked less than an hour after initial contact. Quickest and easiest interview in the history of the podcast. Central Valley Metal Movement is a group of bands that is lead by Jeff G. He was gracious enough to let me interview some of the bands on his bill when they played at the local venue that I call home.
